Upon equipping a wand/relic, the wizard will unlock that spell in the spellbook, and can be used once four levels of spell casting energy is stored.īefore, the wizard earned Earth, Fire, Ice, Storm, and Water spells by completing quests. Sometimes, pets can learn either/or of a move. However, their natural element is Astral, so those are the spells learned while leveling up. The Wizard seems to be able to manipulate all forms of magic (excluding Shadow) while using relics/wands. They are also implied to be good with animals, as multiple buddy descriptions state the buddy wouldn't follow them unless it likes them. Noot claims that the wizard is his friend, implying that they've gotten to know each other to the point of a friendship as the plot moves along. The wizard is suggested to be a Prodigy of some sort, and is mentioned to canonically having friends (excluding the "friending" feature) in certain item descriptions. Regardless of this, Athena notes the wizard's confusion, hinting that the wizard hasn't participated in Festivals before. However, the tutorial has been changed, the wizard now living at a house just outside Lamplight Town and being implied to being a native.
The wizard, in the original tutorial, arrived to the island on a ship, implying that they are not native to the island of Prodigy.
This is confirmed as Noot states " I've brought a new friend to help defeat the Puppet Master!" when introducing the wizard to Gale. However, as the Puppet Master blasted the keystones in the tutorial as part of his plan, the wizard falls into a different role - defeating the Order. The wizard is originally depicted as a student of the Academy in the tutorial, going there to learn. The wizard is also a bit unsure about exactly how intelligent monsters are, as seen in the Cake item description. However, this has no affect on how much the item heals them. They have preferences in terms of food, becoming excited in certain item descriptions. For example, wizard exclaims " Why am I even carrying this around?!" regarding the fish bone item, showing that they have little control over what goes in or out of their inventory and would like to discard certain items. They also are seen to question certain game mechanics, such as the inventory system, in certain item descriptions. However, they are seen to sleep in and despising waking up early in the tutorial, as well as Noot overtime describing he/she as if they have great potential to the Puppet Master. The wizard does not have a well developed personality as they are portrayed by the player, and having no dialogue (outside of first-person item descriptions). It's implied in the Old Sock description that they also wear socks, but this was never added to their in-game design. The default appearance (as seen in the tutorial) is a male/female wizard bearing a variant of the Magi's Shroud and the Training Wand.
